While the Pittsburgh region has been performing better than the benchmark average in terms of job growth for the past five years, in 2013, Pittsburgh’s job growth stalled, and the region turned in the lowest amount of job growth — in both the number of jobs and in percentage gains — among the 16 benchmark regions.
