GDP – Annual Trend

All benchmark regions exhibited positive movement in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 2001 to 2008. However, in 2009, many of them, including Pittsburgh, experienced a decline in 2009, followed by a steady increase from 2009 to 2015.

GDP by Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is released annually by the Bureau of Economic Analysis at the U.S. Commerce Department.
