The Pittsburgh MSA’s murder rate per 100,000 population in 2016 was 5.1, an increase of 8.5 percent from 2015’s murder rate.
The City of Pittsburgh’s murder rate per 100,000 population in 2016 was 18.8, an increase of 1.1 percent from 2015’s murder rate.
