Burglary Rate per 100K Population

Burglary rates for regions are consistently about half the rate of burglary for cities. The rates for the Pittsburgh region and the City of Pittsburgh are consistently low.

The Pittsburgh MSA’s burglary rate per 100,000 population in 2016 was 309.5, a decrease of 3.8 percent from 2015’s burglary rate and the lowest rate of all benchmark regions.

The City of Pittsburgh’s burglary rate per 100,000 population in 2016 was 604.4, an decrease of 15.6 percent from 2015’s burglary rate of 715.9.
