Adults in the Pittsburgh region are about as physically active as their peers in Pittsburgh TODAY’s benchmark regions, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS).
In 2016, about 78 percent of adults in the Pittsburgh region reported that exercised in the past month. That percentage is slightly below the benchmark average of 79.4 percent.
Seattle, with its temperate climate, leads the way with 84.8 percent of adults in the region who say they’ve exercised in the past month.
