Metropolitan Pittsburgh’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased 1.1 percent from 5.0 percent in June 2017 to 4.1 percent in June 2018. During that period, the number of people in the labor force decreased by 13,800 while the number of unemployed decreased by 12,300.
Within the region, Butler County held the lowest unemployment rate at 3.8 percent, while Fayette County held the highest rate at 5.6 percent.
